Message from the Crisis Management Team
As of 2 p.m. on Wednesday, August 20, 2008, the University of North Florida is closed for business, due to weather conditions associated with Fay. UNF will also be closed for business on Thursday, August 21, 2008 and academic, administrative and recreational buildings will be locked. No decision has been made about the status of UNF for Friday, August 22, though it is likely the campus will be open for business.
UNF Housing Check-in, originally scheduled for Friday, has been rescheduled to Saturday, August 23. Housing Operations plans to utilize the following check-in schedule on Saturday, August 23, 2008 for students assigned to first year areas:
- Osprey Hall: 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
- Osprey Crossings: 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
- Osprey Landing: 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Returning Students assigned to upper-class areas may check-in on Sunday, August 24 between the hours of 10:00am and 4:00pm.
- Osprey Cove: 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
- Osprey Village: 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Students and their families are encouraged to wait until weather conditions are safe before arriving on campus. Students will be permitted to move on campus Sunday, August 24 and Monday, August 25, if needed. The Week of Welcome schedule has been revised.
